“ We've purchase food from Sumo almost once a week for many years. We usually do take-out, including sashimi sampler, tuna poki, unagi, hamachi, agedashi tofu, and seaweed. Food is excellent, prices are reasonable, service for take-out is perfect, and the owner and staff are extremely friendly and reliable. Yes, we like Sumo a lot; otherwise, we wouldn't be regulars. ”
“ Came here after a previously horrid dining experience elsewhere (also reviewed). Didnt order a lot but what we had was great. Place was clean, good ambiance, and the food was tasty. Service was awesome as well, our server was quick, friendly and attentive ”
“ Delicious sushi with good vegan/vegetarian options, and a fun recolving sushi train running inside! My team of 7 came here for a lunch on a Friday at 12, were seated pretty much immediately and had a great time. Prices are pretty reasonable and everyone loved the sushi. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the waiter wasn't particularly knowledgeable about it the rolls- I'm vegan so I don't eat honey, and someone asked if if would be possible to get the honey walnut avocado rolls without any honey, and the waiter said yes, which was just not true. The roll is made with honey coated walnuts, and it was pretty obvious when it came out that the walnuts had honey on them. However there are a number of rolls that I'm pretty sure are legitimately vegan, and I especially enjoyed the jessie special. ”
“ We had a good experience at this one. Although they do carry out an elaborate vegetarian menu but I was feeling an extra brave to try out the sushi as it should be. So, I ordered the rainbow sushi that had a good mix of fish in one plate. And, I must say they did a great job there. The sushi was perfect with great flavors and felt really fresh. The tropical mango roll was vegetarian and it was flavorful. We also had the mochi dessert - both ice cream and red bean paste. While, they both were good, I liked the one with ice cream better as it was not very chewy. The servers were okay, make sure you check the order once it's placed as they kinda have language barrier. The ambiance was also okayish (maybe because we went there pretty late on a weekday). ”
“ Like the conveyer belt for instant gratification. Nice and friendly servers. Good selection of maki and hand rolls. A full page of the menu dedicated to vegetarian people. We had house special and dragon roll and both are very good. The scallop hand roll is very good too. Pricing is what you expect in Los Altos, CA. ”
“ I went to this restaurant back in late-January with my 8 year old son, his friend, and my wife (my review is late). I was impressed with this restaurant. The ambiance is average but the food and service were AWESOME. FOOD * Seaweed salad: The presentation of the salad was outstanding and it was very tasty and lightly seasoned. * Shishito peppers: A must have here...sorry they went fast before I could take a pic! * Gyoza: The Gyozas were an instant hit! We had to order two orders because the boys devoured the apps and we had to get more for the table. * Kids chicken teriyaki: The presentation was outstanding (see pic) and it came with salad. My son and his friend loved this * 1 item bento (Salmon): My wife got the 1 item bento and she said the fish was very tasty. * Tuna Sashimi: Presentation was outstanding; I had to get Nigiri from the sushi boat too! * Spicy Tuna Roll: This was good and left me wanting more. All in all we will be going back to this place again. ”
